Fireside, an app co-founded by entrepreneur Mark Cuban, launched Tuesday to help podcasters, musicians and other professional content producers create live shows with the ability to interact with audiences.
The app launch comes at a time when social media giants and other startups are increasingly focusing on live features. for example, Twitch And alphabetical YouTube offers live video streaming, while Facebook And Twitter Live audio room chat is launched.
“The vehicle we built is a production studio on your phone,” Fallon Fatemi, fire place co-founder said in an interview.
Content creators will be able to start interactive shows from their phones using the Fireside app, which will automatically record and transcribe the show.
Fireside lets users automatically stream their shows on other platforms such as youtube, Facebook and Twitch, which helps streamline the otherwise complicated process if creators want to distribute their content to multiple locations, Fatemi said.
Creators can also earn money from their shows by selling tickets for virtual entry or by adding ad breaks.
Fatemi said that being able to hear how listeners are reacting to the show in real time can help creators improve their content.
Fatemi said, “Quality content is king. … Attracting viewers is the biggest challenge.” “It is important to understand how viewers react to content as they are consuming it live.”
The latest tech venture for Fireside is Cuba, which is also an investor in other tech startups such as Samba TV and streaming service Philo.
