Vodafone Idea and BSNL continued to lose market share in the Indian wireless subscriber segment in August, according to a new TRAI report. Reliance Jio continued to add customers while maintaining its market share in the segment. Bharti Airtel also added customers in the month of August, though not as much as Jio. Reliance Jio added 0.649 million wireless subscribers, while Bharti Airtel Telecom added a total of 0.13.8 million subscribers in August, according to Trai.

Airtel It was the only other telecom operator to get a wireless subscriber with 0.13.8 million subscribers added in August. Its market share increased to 29.85 per cent from 29.83 per cent in July.
Vodafone IdeaThe TRAI report said that there was less wireless subscriber reduction in August as compared to July. The telco lost 0.833 million wireless customers in August, compared to 1.43 million in the month before. BSNL The decline continued in August, losing 60,439 customers. Vodafone Idea reportedly had a market share of 22.84 per cent and BSNL’s 9.63 per cent as of August.
In the broadband segment, TRAI reports that Reliance Jio takes the largest market share with 447.57 million subscribers in August, Airtel with 205.96 million subscribers, Vodafone Idea with 123.53 million subscribers, BSNL with 24.28 million subscribers, and Atria Convergence. has 1.95 million subscribers. In the broadband segment, Reliance Jio has 55.02 per cent market share, Airtel has 25.32 per cent market share, Vodafone Idea is at the third position with 15.19 per cent market share and BSNL has 2.98 per cent market share.
Especially in the wired broadband segment, BSNL tops the list with 5.49 million subscribers. Reliance Jio leads the wireless broadband segment with 443.86 million subscribers.
