former captain of india M S Dhoni Giving an update on his future as a Chennai Super Kings player, he said that he hopes to return to Chepauk and play his final match in Chennai for the three-time IPL champions. Dhoni along with Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir and Shardul Thakur were live on CSK’s official YouTube page, interacting with fans. A fan asked Dhoni the reason for choosing August 15 as the day to announce his retirement from international cricket and expressed his disappointment over the wicketkeeper-batsman not attending the farewell game.
In response, Dhoni said that he wants to meet his fans and hopes to play his last match in Chennai.
“It couldn’t be a better day than that – August 15. When it comes to farewell, you can always come and watch me play for CSK and this could be my farewell game. You still have to bid me adieu. Will get a chance. Farewell. Hopefully we come to Chennai and play our last match there and I can meet all my fans.” Dhoni said during CSK’s live session on YouTube Page.
Dhoni’s remarks suggest that the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman is likely to take the field for CSK in next year’s IPL.
The 40-year-old has been successful in taking CSK to the playoffs for the 11th time in the IPL.
Dhoni’s numbers as a batsman may not be good this season, but his leadership skills are second to none.
After finishing 7th last season, Dhoni-led CSK became the first team to seal a playoff berth this season.
