Apple’s Electric Car With Full Self-Driving Capabilities Said to Launch as Soon as 2025


Apple is pushing to launch its electric car in early 2025 and reorient the project around full self-driving capabilities, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.

NS iPhone Maker’s shares rose nearly 3 percent to set a new record following the report.

Apple The report states that the ideal car would not have a steering wheel and pedals, with the interiors designed for hands-off driving.

The company’s automotive efforts, known as Project Titan, has progressed unevenly since 2014 when it first began designing a vehicle from scratch.

Demand for electric vehicles has increased as countries and customers become more environmentally conscious, increasing the market value of companies: Tesla And rivian Far above traditional car makers for decades.

“It’s a matter of when, if not,” Wedbush analyst Dan Ives said, adding that by 2025 the likelihood of Apple unveiling its own standalone car is 60 percent to 65 percent.

NS bloomberg report said that some people working on the project were skeptical about the timeline even with recent progress, which include the car’s built-in self-driving system, processor chips and advanced sensors.

Apple declined to comment on the report.

Reuters reported in December that Apple was targeting 2024 to produce a passenger vehicle that could include breakthrough battery technology of its own.

Meanwhile, The Information cited a memo that reported that Apple was preparing to bring employees back to offices from February 1 and would let employees work remotely for up to four weeks each year.
