Days before the big announcement on November 30th, a logo has leaked for the new Qualcomm chip, the Snapdragon 8Gx Gen 1.
According to GSMArena, the leak was seen in a staging site for the company. The page is titled ‘Test Icon’ and the mark in question is located next to the label ‘Test123’.
Clearly, this is a template that has to be filled with actual text (that’s the point of the staging site), but it’s not done yet.
The new flagship chipset was supposed to be named ‘Snapdragon 8 Gen 1’. Qualcomm Exact name not actually confirmed; It just refers to “our latest flagship Snapdragon 8-series platform”. So it’s possible that the 8-series chips will actually be named ‘8Gx’.
Qualcomm already has ‘named’ chips8cx‘, the flagship offering for Windows-on-ARM laptops. there is also one 8c, which sits just below the 8cx, and is an entry-level 7c, If ‘c’ stands for ‘Computer’, then what does ‘G’ stand for?
According to GSMArena, according to the current naming scheme, some chipsets get the ‘G’ suffix to denote higher clock speeds for GPUs, e.g. snapdragon 765 And 765G, And ‘x’ simply means high-end.
