WhatsApp started crashing randomly on the iPhone for some users early Wednesday. The issue was initially thought to be limited to iOS 15.2, though some affected users later reported on social media that it was disrupting the experience on earlier iOS versions as well. The complaints that surfaced on the web suggest that the crashing was not specific to a specific region as WhatsApp users from different parts of the world faced the same problem where the app crashes immediately after access.

9to5Mac reports Since the WhatsApp beta available through Testflight was also crashing, the bug could be due to some issue with Meta’s servers rather than a problem with the iOS app. issue also rubbed off some users on whatsapp business,
WhatsApp Engineering Head Nitin Gupta accepted Crash issue in response to a tweet posted by WABetaInfo. He advised the affected users to use the app in airplane mode once in a while to minimize the problem.
In a separate tweet, WABetaInfo reports That the issue has been fixed a few hours after it was raised online. However, WhatsApp is yet to officially confirm whether the problem has been resolved or not.
