Xiaomi 12 Ultra Rear Design Tipped Ahead of Global Launch, Compared to Vivo Flagship


Xiaomi 12 series was launched in China in December last year. The flagship lineup includes three smartphones – Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12X. However, Xiaomi 12 Ultra was missing from this series. Reports have suggested that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is nearing a global rollout after some of its key specifications were reportedly leaked. Recently, its rear design details have surfaced on Weibo, which suggests that the flagship smartphone could feature a bigger rear camera module. The tipster compared its design to that of Vivo’s upcoming flagship offering.

Alleged details come from known tipster digital chat station Via Weibo. Xiaomi The 12 Ultra is believed to feature a large rear camera module that spans the entire width of the handset. Its exterior is expected to have a rectangular shape while the circular interior placed at the center is tipped to house all the camera sensors. The tipster has mentioned that this design layout could be similar to the design of the upcoming Vivo flagship smartphone with its circular camera island aligning to the left.

previous report have pointed Xiaomi 12 Ultra To pack a quad rear camera setup with a 5x periscope telephoto lens. This lens could be the highest optical zoom lens available on a smartphone at the time of launch. In addition, the smartphone is believed to have Leica cameras. The smartphone is expected to feature a centrally placed hole-punch selfie camera with a curved display. Additionally, it is expected to be powered by Xiaomi’s in-house Surge chips, similar to all other Xiaomi 12 series smartphones. These chips are designed to improve the overall image quality of the smartphone.

The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is said to sport a 6.6-inch AMOLED 2K display. It is believed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The smartphone is rumored to launch in February to succeed the Xiaomi 11 Ultra.
